I find the human brain and its ability to learn and store information to be amazing. This is part of the reason I am a tutor. I work with students to find a relationship between what they enjoy doing and the problem at hand. I keep trying until I see that spark in their eyes indicating they understand how the problem can be solved. Once they have that, together we build on the skills to move towards understanding a new concept. I have found that the more students can apply the problem to a real life situation, the better they will learn the basic concepts.I attended the University of Idaho. I enjoy helping students and tutoring math, from basic math through precalculus. I can also tutor students in English, writing, public speaking, general and social sciences, and computer technologies. I enjoy taking a math problem students feel they cannot even begin to understand, breaking it down into smaller concepts, and then helping them to build it back up while finding the solution. Each learned concept gives them the confidence to move on to harder work. During my free time, I enjoy camping, reading, cooking, and spinning yarn to crochet.
